Talk about biting the hand that feeds you. Donald Trump fluked his way back into the White House owing to the inflationary beating his Covid era “spend, borrow and print” bacchanalia inflicted on main street America. Of course, said beating didn’t fully materialize until the first two years of the “Joe Biden” interregnum—so the latter took the rap for the folly of Trump-O-Nomics 1.0.
Yet lest we forget, here is what happened to government spending during the last year of the Donald’s first term. It simply erupted like a fiscal rocket in Q2 2020 when Trump ordered the Covid Lockdown and signed a sight unseen $2.2 trillion CARES act after barely a week of Congressional consideration.
